Sunday, by all accounts, was a day everyone should have stayed inside. It was 34° and raining. A friend of mine cleaned out his gutters on Sunday, so I suppose you could do worse than taking a hike through the woods.
That’s where our troop was, tromping through the woods enjoying the sights and having a good time.

Great pics! What type of camera are you using? I have a Nikon D40x… but would love to upgrade in the near future. Thinking of switching to Canon. Correct me if I’m wrong, but Canon seems more user friendly and somewhat better pics. I haven’t experienced much with Canon, but what I’ve seen holds my opinion that way for now.

I’m using a Canon T2i which I like very much. I don’t believe there’s a vast difference between Canon and Nikon usability. Your D40x is every bit the camera that my T2i is.
I think you should look at getting a nice lens if you want to improve your pictures. You’ll want a lens with a low f-stop. A prime lens like a 50mm f/1.4 is a great start. Or try a 17-70mm f/2.8 lens. If price is a concern, buy an off-brand like Sigma or Tamron. Most of my shots are taken with a Tamron lens.
Also, take your camera off “auto” and try some different things. I generally like to shoot on “aperture” mode.
