Enjoy the pics from our outing to Richland County last Friday.

George (from Colorado) was struck by how lush the valley was. And if you’ve ever visited the Rocky Mountain high country, you know what he means.

What a beautiful place to call home!

  1. Dude man,

Thanks for the post. I shot a ton of video while we were there but I’ve got no time at all to edit. Maybe some evening over beers we could sit down together and clip footage and tie some new buggers.

I have definitely fallen in love with the long cast. Those Driftless fish are easily spooked! I think I’ll spend many long hours in idealized pools pushing dries into the breeze in hopeful anticipation of the surface strike. It’s just too much fun.

    • Sure, we should make a video. That’d be fun. Lots of whiskey will help as well. My first opportunity is probably this Saturday. I’m going to the LA tomorrow morning. A change of scenery compared to the Driftless.

I’m right there with you about casting dries 50 feet to a pool. Wicked fun!

  2. Beautiful. Thanks for posting these. I’ve definitely got to get out there and explore more.

  3. Oh God! That’s a perfect place to fish! Good job guys! I will be waiting for the video… Drink a lot of beer and whiskey… and edit it! 🙂

  4. Those are great pictures. They really capture the beauty of that Wisconsin Valleys. I’m so glad we got to show off to our Colorado visitor, what makes Wisconsin such a lovely place to enjoy the great outdoors. I love playing hooky! Fishing with the boys was excellent…recommended to reduce stress and revive the spirit! Thanks guys. Now I have to learn to cast the fly rod! Chapter 2!

    Best,

    Katie
